The Wildbirch Hotel
A collection of visionary locals turned this historic hotel into the city’s archetype of Anchorage hospitality and proudly JDV by Hyatt. FINE was brought in to help unleash its potential. We reimagined the boutique property's entire universe, re-christening it as Wildbirch and crafting a standout brand identity to match its physical rebirth. The result is a bold, unified experience that breathes brand-new life into a Last Frontier icon.
Rooted in Discovery
Guided by boots-on-the-ground exploration, our strategy took directly to the Alaskan terrain to uncover what local hospitality was missing. This fieldwork established Wildbirch as one of the region’s most distinct boutique stays. We then codified these insights into comprehensive brand guidelines, seamlessly weaving together brand messaging, visual systems, and culture-focused programming.

Adventure-Ready Hospitality
Designed in tandem with the brand’s aesthetic, the guest journey effortlessly bridges fireside comfort with outdoor adventure. We curated a dedicated activity program and local field guide, paired with trail-ready swag like branded totes, journals, and backpacking gear. It’s an invitation for guests to take a piece of the story along for the ride.

Grit Meets Modern Design
Visually, the identity draws from Anchorage’s native heritage, its tradition of exploration, and the land’s dramatic topography. We leaned into tactile materials that embrace a healthy dose of authentic Alaskan grit, resolved through a sleek, modern lens. The result is a design language that feels deeply grounded yet effortlessly refined.

The Spirit of Anchorage
Ultimately, every touchpoint of Wildbirch was thoughtfully considered to capture the city’s creative culture and recreational spirit. It’s a genuine tribute to the Last Frontier—packaged into a wildly memorable stay.
