Set in idyllic Manchester Village, Vermont, The Copper Grouse is a comfort-driven tavern with roots planted in hand-crafted style and fare. Loyal to its region for its menu, it draws inspiration from local history, with an identity that's as casually polished as the restaurant's offerings.

Classic Comfort

Envisioned as a local mainstay – where the food tastes, and the space feels, like home – the brand identity and collateral evoke simpler times. Menus use period-based design references from the early 20th century, finished with a modern, sophisticated flair. Business cards and bar books are linen-bound with a copper foil, using distressed, imperfect lines for a playful urban perspective.

Stamping the Brand

A custom rubber stamp imbues guest-facing pieces with the feel of genuine craft, and lends to the restaurant's thoughtfully worn personality. Used to stamp menus, takeout boxes, or even receipts, the stamp also works as a dual tie to the Grouse's literary elements that can be "checked out" through close inspection.

Signature Touches

A classic field guide spawned the visual idea that heavily directed the restaurant's signature coasters. Local fauna are featured in silhouette – a vintage design element that stylishly highlights Vermont's most-famous creatures. The set of six coasters is also available for purchase.

A Digital Welcome

In anticipation of opening, a simple and stylish splash page set The Copper Grouse's new brand tone. Embellished with a linen texture and a foil-stamped grouse, the page was the first glimpse of first-impression into the brand, the venue, and the community to come.
