Kimpton Double Take Wins Summit Creative Award for Logo Design

Kimpton Double Take is a modern Los Angeles restaurant and bar with a contrasting style that recognizes the local independent filmmakers’ impact on making the city the booming industry it is now. Its identity reflects a subtle shift in misperception, the ID flipping the name’s L and A, to evoke the brand name and act as a reminder to the filmmaker’s sleight of hand. The full collateral suite adopts the same understated, yet strikingly dynamic, color and compositional arrangements of words and invisible sightlines, with items like menus clipped together to elevate their counterpart’s content via lines that direct sight to individual headers.

The design won silver in the Summit Creative Awards, which since 1994, has honored the best web, design, video, advertising, interactive, mobile, and social marketing from creative agencies worldwide.

Double Take also won a Gold Graphis branding award.
