Take Pride. Show Your True Colors.

The story behind FINE's 2022 Pride content and designs. Plus, two free Zoom backgrounds to help you celebrate colorfully.
This month, colorful signs of support for Pride are emerging everywhere, infusing everything from corporate logos to sports caps to profile pics with rainbow hues. While cynics may label it all “virtue signaling,” we say, what better thing to signal than virtue? Especially if (like us) you’re big advocates of what this important month means.
So to show our support, we canvassed our staff for movies, books, music, and resources that share diverse stories and perspectives, showcase queer artists and icons, and provide critical support to the LGBTQ+ community. It was our way of inspiring a deeper conversation, and one that might extend long after the calendar switches to July. We’ve posted them in our socials.
"The goal was to create something with a bright, vibrant energy that encompasses the joy of Pride—and that’s a lot of joy to encompass."
We’ve also developed some designs to serve both as visual framing for the conversation and for your face on Zoom. The goal was to create something with a bright, vibrant energy that encompasses the joy of Pride—and that’s a lot of joy to encompass. That’s why two distinct FINE design directions explore the broad spectrum (pun sorta intended) of ways rainbow motifs can take shape to show Pride.
Maybe they evolve and morph to become playful and ebullient, like kaleidoscopic stickers or whimsical Lisa Frank stationery that spur childhood imaginations of what’s possible in the world. Drag/download this Zoom background if you’re in that we’re-all-kids-at-heart mood. Or because fun.
Or maybe the rainbow takes a more dramatic or emotional turn, where the colors of the signature flag begin to meld, perhaps making a point about fluidity and connection by becoming less a series of rigid stripes and more of a progressing ombré. Drag/download this Zoom background if you see Pride inspiring a shift in perspective. Or because cool.
So that’s the story of our Pride push. Now, whether you use Zoom for school, work, or connecting with loved ones, take Pride in a background that speaks to how you celebrate and support. Happy Pride!
